Christmas jumper-wearers set world record

Ireland has set the world record at 583 for the biggest gathering of Christmas jumper-wearers today.

Geansaí Nollaig Day was set up by the Dublin City Business Improvement District to raise funds for children's charity, Barretstown, and to boost the Christmas mood in the capital.

Organiser Richard Guiney said social media played an important role in getting the message out.

"We just wanted people to come in and have fun, and I think they did," he said.
