Man killed in Cork road accident

A man has been killed in a car crash in Co Cork today.

The man, who was aged in his 50s, was the driver of a car when that vehicle and a truck were in collision on the N22 from Macroom to Killarney at 2.20pm this afternoon.

The driver of the truck was not hurt.

Gardaí at Macroom say the road in the townland of Mons will remain closed for some time, and they are appealing for witnesses to come forward.
