Govt 'looking to scrap' school allowance for under-fours

The Government is looking at scrapping the €200 back to school clothing and footwear allowance to the parents of the under-fours, according to a report this morning.

The Sunday Business Post reports that addressing the anomaly - where children who are not of schoolgoing age get the payment - could save the government €8m per year.
