Man for court in connection with Wicklow firearms seizure

A man is due before Bray District Court this morning in connection with a firearms seizure yesterday evening.

Gardaí discovered two handguns when they stopped and searched a car at a checkpoint on the N11 at Coynes Cross in Co Wicklow.

A man and a woman, both in their 20s, who were in the car at the time were arrested and taken to Wicklow Garda station.

The woman was released last night.

The man will appear in court in relation to the incident later this morning.
