Rabbitte orders inquiry into Fr Reynolds defamation

The Communications Minister Pat Rabbitte has announced an independent inquiry into the case of Father Kevin Reynolds who was defamed by RTE's 'Prime Time' programme.

Minister Rabbitte today requested the Broadcasting Authority of Ireland Compliance Committee to use its powers under the Broadcasting Act to determine whether RTE has met its statutory responsibilities around objectivity, impartiality and fairness.
