Kenny: VAT rise will not apply to food or children's clothing

The Taoiseach Enda Kenny has defended the proposal to increase VAT by 2% in December's Budget.

Speaking in Limerick this afternoon, Mr Kenny said the Government has tough choices to make and that he wants to stick to his promise NOT to increase income tax.
