20% increase in students voting in General Election

More than 70% of students say they voted in this year's General Election, up more than 20% on figures for 2002.

A new survey by the Central Statistics Office also shows a jump in the number of 18- to 24-year-olds voting, up from 50% in 2002 to 62% this year.
