A Limerick born “sophisticated fraudster” who posed as a senior garda has been jailed for 15 months.

John Wall, (aged 55) of Fairgreen Hostel, Galway city pleaded guilty at Dublin Circuit Criminal Court to impersonating a member of the Garda Síochána, using false cheques and possession of stolen property.
