Cork imposes 30km/h speed limit in city centre

A new speed limit of 30 kilometres per hour comes into force in Cork city centre from today.

The revised lower speed limit will apply to Patrick Street, Grand Parade, Oliver Plunkett Street, North Main Street and Cornmarket Street, as well as to a number of adjacent streets.

It is hoped the move will make the streets safer for pedestrians.
