Gardaí launch murder inquiry in Bandon
Gardaí in Bandon investigating the discovery of the body of a 27-year-old man in the river Bandon have launched a murder inquiry.
Jonathan Duke, from Bandon, was pulled from the river Bandon at approximately 11pm on Sunday night and a post mortem was carried out on the deceased yesterday evening at Cork University Hospital.
It is suspected that the father of one was assaulted in a row at a flat in Bandon before being thrown in the nearby river.
Two people, a Cork woman and an eastern European man, were arrested on Sunday night and are still in custody.
Meanwhile, Gardaí have issued an appeal for another man to contact them.
The missing man is a resident at the apartment complex where the assault took place, and it is reported that Gardaí are concerned for his welfare.
