Tánaiste Eamon Gilmore has called on two lenders to reflect on the message given to them this week by the Government on interest rate cuts.

It follows a U-turn from AIB last night, in which it announced last week's 0.25% ECB rate cut would be passed on to its variable rate mortgage holders.
