Quinn welcomes addition of 14 schools
The Minister for Education Ruairi Quinn has welcomed the building of 14 new schools under the 2011 Rapid Delivery Programme.
The 13 primary schools and one secondary school are in Dublin, Louth, Meath, Kildare, Wexford and Galway.
The Programme provides for rapid construction as the buildings are mostly constructed off-site.
The schools serve rapidly developing areas, where there was either no existing school or where existing schools could not meet the demand.
This year's Rapid Delivery programme will see 3,500 pupils benefit from energy efficient buildings and will provide more than 1,000 additional places.
