Port worker dies in Port of Waterford

An investigation has been launched after a sailor died while working at Bellview Port in Waterford.

The 51-year-old, from the Phillippines, fell more than five meters while tying down a load on the cargo ship MV Scot Pioneer at lunchtime yesterday.

The Port of Waterford Company has extended its sympathies to the family and colleagues of the man.
