Govt looks to increase numbers in Rental Allowance Scheme
The Government is looking to increase the number of people in a rental scheme that does not act as a disincentive to returning to work.
The Rental Allowance Scheme seeks to arrange long-term accommodation for people with private landlords, taking into account their employment situation.
It is to move away from the Rental Supplement Scheme, which is oversubscribed and too costly.
The Committe on Jobs, Social Protection and Education will discuss schemes at a meeting this morning.
