'Occupy' activists march in Dublin city centre

Around 400 people were marching through Dublin city centre this afternoon in a protest against the EU/IMF austerity programme.

Protestors from the Occupy Dame Street movement, who have been camping outside the Central Bank for two weeks, marched from the site to the Garden of Remembrance.

The protest is inspired by the Occupy Wall Street movement which started in New York last month and has been replicated in cities across the world.

"They could stop it tomorrow if they give us what we want," said protester Sandra Browne, referring to the EU and IMF.

"We're not stopping until they do.

"We are getting bigger and bigger by the day… people want us to be here."
