'Fat' Freddie Thompson arrested

Gardaí have arrested 'Fat' Freddie Thompson on an extradition warrant from Spain.

Thompson, with an address at Loretto Road, Maryland, is wanted in Spain on suspicion of participating in a criminal organisation and drug trafficking.

He has been remanded in custody by the High Court for a week.
