Taoiseach: Regulator 'correct' to stop banks raising variable mortgages

The Taoiseach Enda Kenny has said he will support the Central Bank in an effort to stop financial institutions from raising the variable interest rate.

The Financial Regulator, Matthew Elderfield, has said rate hikes hit those people who are already struggling with their debts.
