Justice Minister Alan Shatter has said the newly unveiled Legal Services Bill will bring the profession out of the 19th century and into the 21st century.

The bill provides for a new complaints procedure against legal practitioners, allows barristers to form partnerships and aims to make legal costs more transparent for the client.
