Landlord fined for failure to register rental properties

A Dublin landlord has been fined €11,550 for not registering rental properties.

The Private Residential Tenancies Board (PRTB) secured three criminal convictions and fines worth €11,550 against Mr William Twomey of 9, Winton Road, Ranelagh in Dublin 6.

He had been given a number of statutory notices and warnings to registerthe properties.

Elsewhere, a Wicklow landlord was fined more than €10,000 for failure to refund a tenant's security deposit.

The PRTB took Brian McDonagh of Dromin House, Drummin East, Delganey, Co Wicklow to court for not giving back his tenant a €2,000 deposit.
