Dáil scraps €50k signature plaque

Plans to commemorate the signatures of all Dáil members past and present have been scrapped, even though €50,000 has already been spent on the project.

The Dáil has been told the plaque has been dismantled, according to this morning's Irish Times.

In 2003, a number of Fine Gael TDs said it was taken down as Michael Collins' signature featured too prominently, but Bertie Ahern said it was because some of the names were featured twice.
