Fresh efforts are being made to help young Irish planners, who have been forced to emigrate in search of work.

The Irish Planning Institute – which represents professional planners in public and private practice –has signed an agreement with its New Zealand counterpart to facilitate graduates who travel there.

The bi-lateral agreement means the primary barrier to Irish planners starting work right away in New Zealand will be removed as they can now essentially 'swap' their IPI membership for the Kiwi equivalent.
