Man 'slashed best friend's throat in row over pint'
A south Dublin man told gardaí that he didn’t know how he could live with himself after he allegedly slashed his best friend’s throat in a row over a pint, Dublin Circuit Criminal Court has heard.
Luke Walsh also told gardaí - in a voluntary statement the day after the incident - that he accepted he had hit the alleged victim, Colin Doyle, with the glass, even though he could not remember doing it.
However the 23-year-old said while giving evidence today that he could not remember what happened and refused to accept he attacked Mr Doyle.
The judge today told the jury that they have heard all the evidence and that the case will resume on Monday with closing speeches.
