Tánaiste to address SIPTU conference after strike threat
The Tánaiste Eamon Gilmore is to address SIPTU's biennial meeting in Co Clare today.
SIPTU - the country's largest union - has threatened industrial action including strikes to preserve pension schemes.
Yesterday senior representatives made it clear that members will resist any attempt to make workers pay for the recently introduced pension levy.
Eamon Gilmore is expected to address the conference at the West County Hotel in Ennis shortly after 9am.
