Analysts predicting interest rate cut

Analysts are predicting that the European Central Bank could cut interest rates later this week, as Jean-Claude Trichet prepares to step down after eight years as the ECB president.

If rates are not cut on Thursday economists are forecasting that the bank will lower its key interest rate before the end of the year and in the first quarter of next year.
