Council considers demolishing ghost estates

Wexford County Council is considering a proposal to bulldoze ghost estates.

A Council official recently indicated that the authority is hoping that a request to raze one Gorey estate, Coill na Giuise, will be approved by the Department of the Environment.

The Department has not yet approved any such request.

There are currently approximately 9,000 houses that are nearly complete or vacant nationwide, while 9,000 more are partially complete.
