Gardaí in Dublin are appealing for information after a man was shot several times in Harold's Cross this evening.

Gardaí in Dublin are appealing for information after a man was shot several times in Harold's Cross this evening.

The victim, who is in his late 20s, was attacked in a laneway off the Harold's Cross Road at around 6.30pm

He was taken to hospital by ambulance. Details on his condition are not currently available.

The scene has been preserved for a technical examination and an incident room has been set up at Terenure garda station.

Gardaí are appealing to anyone who was in the Kenilworth area of the Harold's Cross Road between 6pm and 6.30pm this evening to contact them.
