Macroom death: Cork gardaí release man

Gardaí in Co Cork have released without charge the 30-year-old man they had been questioning about the death of a man in Macroom this week.

The body of 42-year-old Don Geasley was found with serious head injuries in his rented home in Masseytown near Macroom.

For operational reasons, gardaí are not disclosing the results of the post mortem examination.

However, it is understood the victim died as a result of an assault.
