Up to 150 MEPs call on Commissioner to retract flags comment
As many as 150 members of the European Parliament have called on a German EU Commissioner to his comments suggesting flags of countries struggling with debt should be flown at half mast
Irish politicians have rounded on Energy Commissioner Gunter Oettinger and called on him to retract them or quit, branding them "careless and irresponsible".
