Reverend makes historical address at SF Ard Fheis
History has been made at the Sinn Féin Ard Fheis tonight as the first Protestant clergyman from the North has addressed the party.
Reverend David Lattimer from Derry was invited to address the gathering by the Deputy First Minister Martin McGuinness.
He told the gathering he had received a warmer welcome than he thought he would.
The Reverend said the reception he got shows how people are "moving forward".
Reverend Latimer said: "There is a swathe of people who are looking for positive leadership so that we can go forward together.
"Is it possible that the Democratic Unionists could see their way to invite a Catholic priest to address their party conference this year, or next? I would like to think my co-religionists would emulate what you have done."
