Fire service struggling with massive hotel fire
Six units of the fire service from Galway and Tipperary are still battling a massive fire at the Shannon Oaks hotel in Portumna, Co Galway.
Emergency services were alerted to the blaze at 1pm this afternoon and are now working to prevent the fire spreading to the wings of the building.
Additional water supplies are being transported from the hotel swimming pool and local marina.
Everyone in the hotel was evacuated and nobody was injured in the blaze which has extensively damaged the building.
