More than 2,500 people in Ireland are diagnosed with breast cancer every year and today, efforts are being made to raise vital funds for the cause.

The ten kilometre 'pink ribbon walk' in Kells, Co. Meath aims to raise almost €100,000 for Action Breast Cancer.

Wendy Stapleton from Navan, Co. Meath, is one of those taking part.

The 39-year-old had to postpone her wedding when she was diagnosed with the illness last year, but she said early detection means her future is bright.
