Suicide prevention charity sees 40% rise in calls

A charity organisation working to prevent suicide has said it has seen a 40% increase in the number of people wanting their help during the first six months of this year.

Pieta House, which is based in Dublin, said the recession is a "major factor" in the rise in people considering suicide.
