School principals concerned at number of children owning mobiles

Concerns are being expressed at a survey which has found 37% of 8-year-old children in Ireland have a mobile phone.

Primary school principals are now calling for text bullying to be included in the frame of the Stay Safe Programme.

The survey of 500 parents, for Tesco Mobile, also found all 14-year-olds have their own phones.
