Pharmacists to check for tampered Nurofen in Ireland
Pharmacists in Ireland will today check through each individual box of Nurofen Plus painkillers they have in stock.
It comes after a sabotage scare in the UK, where boxes of the painkillers were tampered with, and the pills were swapped for anti-psychotic medication.
A partial recall has also been implemented where boxes of Nurofen Plus being held in wholesalers are being sent back to the manufacturers.
British police are investigating, but the extent of the sabotage is not yet known.
