Foul play ruled out in Mullingar blaze probe

Gardaí investigating a house fire in Westmeath in which a couple and their four children were injured have ruled out foul play.

A woman and a toddler remain in a serious condition in hospital following the blaze at a house on Grange Crescent in Mullingar in the early hours of Monday morning.

Eight people, including two gardaí, were hospitalised following the fire.

Gardaí say that following a technical examination, they do not believe the blaze was started maliciously.
