Austrian for court in connection with plane rage incident

An Austrian man is due before Ennis District Court later in connection with an air-rage incident which forced a plane to divert to Shannon Airport two days ago.

Harold Albrecht (aged 32) faces charges of being drunk and abusive on board a flight from Washington to Vienna.

The plane with 200 passengers had to land in Shannon just after 7am on Saturday.

The court heard that Mr Albrecht was a professional librarian who had been returning from a five-week academic internship in the United States.
