Man charged in connection with South Africa deaths

A man has been arrested and charged in connection with the murder of an Irish man and his wife in South Africa.

The bodies of the 53-year-old man and his 34-year-old South African wife were found yesterday at their home in Alberton, on the outskirts of Johannesburg.

Both had been shot dead.

It has been reported that the man in police custody is the 75-year-old father of the woman who was shot.

The Irish man is believed to have been living in South Africa for several years.
