Iarnród Éireann has apologised to a gay couple who were stopped from using a valid travel pass that was issued by the Department of Social Protection.

The error occured when a passenger who is on disability benefit and qualifies for a travel pass tried to board a train at Heuston Station in Dublin with his husband.
