Murder accused in bail application
A man charged over a double shooting in Dublin city last year has applied to the High Court for bail.
Gary Howard, with an address in Dunsoghley Grove in Finglas, is charged with the murder of Brendan Molyneux and Patrick Mooney, who were shot dead on January 10, 2010, at Pearse House in Dublin city centre.
The High Court was told today that Mr Howard was subsequently arrested and charged with the double murders.
The 23-yea- old is looking for bail ahead of his trial next year but Inspector Michael Cryan of Pearse Street Garda Station has raised objections.
He fears Howard is a flight risk and believes he will not turn up for trial given the seriousness of the charges.
Ms Justice Elizabeth Dunne will decide whether to grant bail this afternoon.
