HSE denies plan to downgrade Blanchardstown A&E
The HSE has said there is no plan to change the role and function of the Emergency
Department at Connolly Hospital in Blanchardstown, Co Dublin.
However, in a statement issued this evening, the HSE said that management at the hospital are examining all options to ensure they remain within budget by year end.
The statement comes after the Socialist Party earlier today said they had been in contact with staff at the hospital - who informed them that the HSE is costing a daytime-only A&E service, prompting fears that the 24-hour service could soon be cut.
