Woman due in court on murder charge

A woman is due in court in Dublin today charged with the murder of a man in Galway over the August Bank Holiday weekend.

Kevin Joyce (aged 59), who was living in Highfield Park in Galway but was originally from Mayo, was found dead at an apartment in Salthill.

A 30-year-old woman was later arrested and appeared in court in Galway last Tuesday.

Maura Thornton, with an address at Apartment 1, 183 Upper Salthill was remanded in custody to appear in court again today.
