Ten-year sentence for man caught with €2m worth of heroin
A man who was rescued by the Emergency Response Unit after being abducted, has today been given a 10-year sentence for possession of €2m worth of heroin.
Ryan Kearney of Castle Park, Leixlip, Co. Kildare pleaded guilty at Dublin Circuit Criminal Court to possession of heroin for sale or supply on January 25, 2008.
Judge Patricia Ryan handed down a 10-year sentence, suspending the final three years of it for the offence.
She noted Kearney’s 109 previous convictions arose out of eight or nine incidents and none of them were for drugs offences.
