Jail for man guilty of €1.2m Dublin jewellery heist
A man who carried out a €1.2m jewellery heist at Dundrum shopping centre in Dublin has been jailed for 10 years.
Ian Maloney of Cashel Road in Crumlin changed his plea to guilty on the robbery charge during his trial earlier this month.
The court heard two men dressed as builders and armed with a gun entered Paul Sheeran Jewellers in Dundrum Town Centre on September 3, 2008.
They ordered staff and customers up against a wall and filled a black bin bag with jewellery before escaping in a red Subaru car which was later found abandoned.
