The Government is being asked to consider changing the date of the presidential election from Thursday, October 27.

The Government is being asked to consider changing the date of the presidential election from Thursday, October 27.

Ógra Fianna Fáil's Eamon Quinlan said the Government should hold elections on a weekend, so students can have their say.

"(A weekday poll) impairs our ability to hold the Government to account and to (have a say) in changes in society where we would like to have an impact," he said.
