Restaurants chief calls on members to pass on VAT reduction
The President of the Restaurants Association of Ireland Brian Fallon has said he is worried the Government will revoke the reduction in VAT on some goods and services, if his members don't implement the new rate.
On July 1, the Government reduced the VAT rate on goods and services in the hospitality and tourism sectors to 9%.
However, a recent survey of more than 150 businesses in Dublin shows that only 16 have so far passed on this VAT reduction to customers.
Mr Fallon is calling on his members to comply.
