Galway crash kills man, injures another

A young man has been killed in a crash in County Galway.

The single-vehicle collision happened at 11.40pm last night, two miles outside Gort on the old Ennis to Gort road.

The 18-year-old driver was seriously injured and taken to hospital where he later died.

An 18-year-old passenger was also taken to University Hospital Galway, where he is in a stable condition.

The road is closed for a technical examination.
