Man dies in Waterford house blaze

A 25-year-old man has died following a house fire in County Waterford overnight.

The blaze broke out in Touraneena at around 4.20am this morning.

It is believed the man was overcome by smoke after a chip pan went on fire.

His body was taken to Waterford Regional Hospital where a post mortem examination will be carried out.

The scene of the fire remains sealed off this morning pending a Garda technical examination.
