Crunch talks are continuing in Brussels between 17 European heads of State this afternoon.

The leaders are meeting to discuss a second bailout deal for Greece in an effort to prevent the debt crisis spreading through Europe.

It is understood a proposed bank tax has been ruled out as an option to finance Greece.

Entering the talks, Taoiseach Enda Kenny said that he hopes they can bring certainty and stability for the future of the euro.

President of the European Commission Jose Manuel Barroso said that he is confident that a solution to the crisis can be found.
