Serious assault reported in Cork city

Gardaí are appealing for witnesses to a serious assault in Cork city on Tuesday night.

A 21-year-old man needed surgery on his face after suffering injuries during an attack on Green Street, off Barrack Street, just before midnight.

Investigating officers would like to speak to anyone who was in the area at the time, or anyone who saw a row break out near Greenmount School between 11pm and midnight.
