The girl is believed to have been walking home through Foyle College on Northland Road at around 11pm last night when she was attacked by a stranger.

Police say she was on her own at the time.

He was around 5ft 9in, of slim build, and was wearing a dark shirt and either tracksuit bottoms or jeans at the time.

The PSNI’s Ballymena Rape Crime Unit is investigating.
